We’re a special needs school with a difference.

We are a registered LSEN Preparatory School, GDE Reg: 700400348, and can accommodate a maximum of 59 pupils ranging in age from 4 years turning 5 years to 18 years of age. We do not work in Grades as our pupils levels differ in each subject. We have a separate premises for our Junior and Senior phase. Our children have varied “labels” that have been attached to them by outside sources.

The staff at our school are very passionate about giving all our children opportunities to be able to contribute to society in their own unique way. We believe that a child is able and valuable with much to offer to the world.

Our children have been rejected by both government and private schools because of their labels. Currently our pupil ‘labels’ are cerebral palsy. hearing impaired, asbergers, autistic, down syndrome, burn victim, near drowning victim, speech impediments, visually impaired, learning difficulties, ADD, ADHD, obsessive compulsive disorder and epileptic etc.

Every child has weekly oxygen therapy in our mild hypobaric oxygen chamber as well as weekly hydro therapy in our heated indoor hydro therapy pool with a qualified biokineticist

We take time to work out who they are and what their method of learning is.

Our mission is to ensure that all children have the right to special education across South Africa and to normalize society throughout the country through advocacy and educational programs.

There is a great need within the field of disability, not only for assistive devices, equipment and treatment programs but also for community education, understanding of disability and the normalization of society through the inclusion of people with disabilities.

We believe that we don’t merely give an education; we aid improved independence, we don’t just provide hearing aids – we open up a hearing world; we don’t simply supply computers – we create a canvas on which children can express their feelings. Our goal is to breathe hope into the lives of children with disabilities and their families as we find ways of improving independence, socialization, education and integration into their communities.

The Footprints Education program aims to change the life of one disabled child at a time in a significant way.

Footprints School currently runs on an Inclusive Education Program for children with disabilities and therefore has the experience and resources to include all children in need across South Africa.
